Who's behind Hand Over Hands?
My name is Amanda Fisher, and I'm the owner of Hand Over Hands. I currently hold two certifications: Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapy (CESMT) and Certified Equine Rehabilitation Therapy (CERT). My goal is to help horses feel better so that they can live and work without pain.
I have loved horses since I was a little girl, but I did not become a horse owner until I was in my mid-30's. My husband, daughter, and I each have a horse, and we enjoy spending time together trail riding and camping with our horses. For my "day job," I have worked as a teacher, technology trainer, online instructional designer, director of marketing, and as a program director and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning at a therapeutic riding center. In the winter, I serve as one of the coaches for our county's 4H Hippology and Horsebowl teams.
How I Got Started
To be honest, I was a bit skeptical of equine sports massage therapy, but I wondered whether it would help some of the problems I was seeing from our horses. After receiving my certifications, I was pleased to see (and feel!) changes in our herd, which made me excited to help other horse owners see the benefits of a healthy, happy horse.
